This insulation pad, like the factory, insulates heat transfer to the hood and well as reducing sound/noise.
This is our own, reverse engineered, created in CAD and die cut. This piece has perfectly cut edges and holes. The shape and holes are perfectly symmetrical. 

Our hood pads come rolled in a long box not folded. Folded hood pads are wrinkled and tear at the folds during storage and shipping.

Materials
Automotive spec matte faced black insulation that more closely matches the factory molded hood insulation pad.
Comes with 24 OE style metal clips. These exact same style clips were used on all 1971 and newer cars. I offer some of the pre 71 hood pads with the plastic clips as an economical option.
