I’ve been working 2+ years to create the most
accurate gaskets available for our old Mopars.
It started when I disassembled my 71 Challengers
heater box to freshen it up only to find no one
was making a new foam kit for it. Having a small
laser engraving side business, I decided to find
the material and laser cut a kit from patterns
from my own heater box. Sold a few HUNDRED and
saw a demand for a neglected market.
Since then I’ve spent over 2 years trying to
locate the most correct materials and reverse
engineering many Mopar gaskets. I was able to
locate the company that made the gray foam
rubber, used on most lense to housing gaskets,
for Chrysler back in the day. It doesn’t get
much better than that! Every single gasket I
make has been reverse engineered by taking
measurements and making multiple test fits on an
original light housing.
Over these 2 years many great Mopar brethren,
some in other countries, have helped by loaning
me their lights and gaskets to duplicate or to
call and tell me something wasn’t quite right.
With help and feedback like this I now have a
product line of over 400 pieces that are used by
many of the top Mopar restoration shops as well
as personal, home restoration guys like me!
Thanks for the help and support,
Jim & Loretta Fillmore
